Editorial policy

How our tarot, numerology and destiny matrix pages are researched, written, checked and kept up to date.

What we publish

Arcana Calculator publishes free calculators and reference pages on tarot, tarot numerology, the destiny matrix and Pythagorean numerology. The aim of every page is to explain what a tradition says and how its method works, clearly enough that you could work it out yourself.

We don’t publish predictions, sponsored posts or paid one-to-one readings. The readings on the site are self-guided tools, drawn and explained in your browser.

Who writes and reviews our pages

Pages are written and reviewed by our team, who bring hands-on experience in tarot reading, astrology and data analysis. Each page is checked for accuracy against its sources and against the calculator it relates to before it goes live. You can read more about the team on the about page.

Sources we rely on

  • Methods come from the people who defined them: Mary K. Greer for birth and year cards, Natalia Ladini’s school for the destiny matrix, and standard Pythagorean numerology for life path and name numbers.
  • Card meanings start from A. E. Waite’s Pictorial Key to the Tarot and the Rider-Waite-Smith imagery, together with the Golden Dawn’s astrological and elemental correspondences. Modern readings for love, career, feelings and yes or no questions follow common contemporary practice.
  • History is checked against reputable published sources. If a date or attribution can’t be confirmed, it’s left out.

The full book list is on the same about page, under “where our card meanings come from”.

How calculations are tested

  • Each formula is written once, in code, and tested against worked examples before it’s published. The complete set is published, with examples, on our formulas page.
  • Worked examples in guides and reference pages are recalculated with that same code, so an explanation matches its calculator.
  • Figures such as how common a card or karmic tail is are counted across every birth date in a stated range, usually 1940 to 2015, and the range is always shown.

How interpretations are written

  • We write that a card “points to” or “is often read as” something. We never say an event will happen.
  • Where traditions differ on numbering, yes or no leanings or karmic tail names, we explain the difference and name the system we follow.
  • We avoid fear-based language. Difficult cards and numbers are explained with their constructive side and practical next steps.
  • Nothing on the site is medical, legal, financial or mental-health advice. Health-related sections, such as the destiny matrix chakra chart, are labeled as reflection only.

Quality checks

The formulas are covered by automated tests, and worked examples are recalculated against the calculators before a page is published. Our team reviews each page against its sources before it goes live, and every meaning comes from the published tarot and numerology traditions.

Editorial independence

  • Our interpretations are never influenced by advertisers. We don’t use paid placement, and any advertising is kept clearly separate from editorial content.
  • We never use fake testimonials, invented experts or made-up statistics.
  • No result is locked behind an email address or payment.

Updates and corrections

Articles and meaning pages show the date they were last updated. We review the library regularly, and again whenever a method or formula changes.

If you spot an error, please contact us with the page address and what looks wrong. We aim to review corrections within a week. Formula errors are fixed first, and significant corrections are noted on the page.
