Question 1 of 10

It's Saturday morning and you have zero plans. What happens next?

What the persona arcana quiz is

In the Persona games, each major character and bond is tied to a tarot arcana. The protagonist is the Fool, the card of beginnings and potential, and the people you meet each carry another card. The idea works because the 22 Major Arcana already read like a cast of characters: the confident maker, the silent one who knows more than she says, the rule-setter, the rebel.

This quiz takes that idea and grounds it in tarot meaning. Ten everyday questions about how you act in a group, make decisions and handle change point to the arcana you most often play.

Fan-made and unofficial. Not affiliated with Atlus or SEGA. No game characters, dialogue or artwork are used.

How the persona arcana quiz scores you

There are ten questions, each with four answers. Every answer is tagged to three or four of the Major Arcana, and gives each of them one to three points. A Saturday spent alone with a book, for example, scores for the Hermit, the High Priestess and the Hanged Man. Brunch for eight scores for the Sun most of all.

After the last question the points are added up. The card with the highest total is your arcana. If two cards finish level, the one you started scoring for first wins, because your earliest answers tend to be the most instinctive. Your top three cards are shown with their totals, so you can see how close the race was.

Every card can be reached by four to seven of the ten questions, so no card is impossible and no single answer decides the result. That’s also why it pays to answer quickly. If you overthink each question, you tend to drift toward the card you’d like to be, not the one you act like.

The archetypes by element

Tarot links every Major Arcana card to an element through its zodiac sign or planet. Grouping the archetypes this way is a quick way to see what your result has in common with its neighbors:

  • Fire, the doers: the Architect (Emperor), the Gentle Force (Strength), the Tide Reader (Wheel of Fortune), the Balancer (Temperance), the Truth-Teller (Tower), the Sunbeam (Sun) and the Awakener (Judgement). They act first and tend to set the pace for everyone else.
  • Air, the thinkers and talkers: the Free Spirit (Fool), the Maker (Magician), the Heart-Led Chooser (Lovers), the Fair Witness (Justice) and the Lamplighter (Star). Ideas, choices and words are their territory.
  • Water, the feelers: the Quiet Knower (High Priestess), the Driver (Chariot), the Reframer (Hanged Man), the Chapter Closer (Death) and the Dreamer (Moon). They read moods and undercurrents, even the Chariot, whose drive is fueled by strong feeling.
  • Earth, the builders and keepers: the Nurturer (Empress), the Mentor (Hierophant), the Seeker (Hermit), the Magnetic Rebel (Devil) and the Whole-Hearted (World). They care about what is real, lasting and close at hand.

If your top three all come from one element, that side of you is strong. A spread across elements usually means you adapt your style to the group you’re in.

How to read your result

  • Read your top three as well as the winner. Most people are a mix. Your second card often explains the side of you the first one misses.
  • Check the “clashes with” card. It usually describes the kind of person who gets under your skin, and what they could teach you.
  • Read the full card. Each archetype links to its full tarot meaning, including how the card behaves in love, work and as a year card.
  • Share it with a friend. Send the result link, then ask them to take the quiz. Comparing your “bonds with” lists is a quick way to see why you get along, or don’t.

Using your arcana for characters and stories

Writers, game masters and fan-fiction authors often take the quiz as a character instead of as themselves. Answer every question the way your character would, then use the result as a starting point:

  • Strengths and blind spot give you a quick character arc: what they’re good at, and the flaw the story can push on.
  • Bonds with and clashes with suggest who they get along with in a cast, and where the friction comes from.
  • The full card meaning adds symbols you can borrow: the Hermit’s lamp, the Star’s water jugs, the Chariot’s two sphinxes.

Persona quiz, birth arcana or both?

This quiz reads your behavior. Your birth arcana is worked out from your date of birth and never changes. Tarot readers would say the birth card describes the theme you’re born with, and a quiz result shows how you’re living it right now. If you get the same card from both, it’s a strong match. If they differ, read your birth card as the long-term lesson and the quiz card as your current style. Your tarot birth cards add a soul card to the picture, which can explain a second card in your top three.

Persona arcana vs tarot arcana

The games borrow the names and broad themes of the tarot, then add their own card order, extra arcana and story roles. Tarot readers use the same 22 cards as symbols for stages of life, which is why a quiz result can feel familiar to a fan and still make sense to a reader. For the game side, with every Confidant and the extra arcana, read Persona arcana meanings explained. For your everyday style rather than your big archetype, take the court card quiz.

What does it mean if I get Death, the Devil or the Tower?

Nothing bad. In tarot, Death is about endings that make room for something new, the Tower is the person who says what everyone else avoids, and the Devil is magnetic and hard to ignore. As archetypes they describe a strong style, not a fate. The result explains the strengths and the blind spot of each.

What do “bonds with” and “clashes with” mean?

They’re the arcana whose styles fit or rub against yours, based on what each card stands for in tarot. The Fool, for example, gets along with structure-builders like the Emperor because each supplies what the other lacks.

Is the persona arcana quiz accurate?

It is a reflection tool, not a psychological test. Each answer is tagged to the cards whose traditional meaning fits that behavior, so results line up with tarot symbolism. How well it fits you depends on answering as you are, not as you would like to be.

Why did I get a different result the second time?

Several questions are close calls, and small changes in your answers can shift the winner, especially if your top two cards were near each other. Look at your top three: they usually stay similar.

Can I share my result?

Yes. After the last question, use “Copy link to this result”. The link stores only your ten answers, so anyone who opens it sees the same card and scores, and nothing personal is shared.
