The destiny matrix money channel is a three-card line just below and to the right of the chart’s center: C2, then C2 plus the shared point, then the shared point itself (C2 + D2). Tradition links it with work, resources and the attitude that keeps money moving in your life. Like the rest of the matrix, it’s a prompt for reflection, and it can’t stand in for financial advice.
You can see your own money channel, with every sum shown, in the destiny matrix calculator.
The three points of the money channel
A destiny matrix has four personal corners: A (left), B (top), C (right) and D (bottom), with the center E in the middle. C is the material point of the chart, linked with work, resources and the year you were born. It’s also the age-40 point on the chart’s timeline.
Each corner has a line running to the center. The C line holds C1 and C2, and the D line holds the karmic tail. Where those two lines meet, just off the center toward the lower right, sits the shared point. The money channel runs from C2 to that shared point. Its sister line, the love line, runs from D2 to the same place. For the full layout, see how to read a destiny matrix chart.
How do you calculate the money channel?
Reduce any total above 22 by adding its digits. The matrix uses Marseille numbering: 8 is Justice, 11 is Strength and the Fool counts as 22.
- A = day, B = month, C = the year’s digits added together (each reduced).
- D = A + B + C. E = A + B + C + D.
- C2 = C + E, and D2 = D + E.
- Shared point (S) = C2 + D2.
- Middle money point = C2 + S.
Your money channel is C2 · (C2 + S) · S.
Example 1: March 15, 1990
- A = 15, B = 3, C = 19, D = 37 → 10, E = 47 → 11
- C2 = 19 + 11 = 30 → 3
- D2 = 10 + 11 = 21
- S = 3 + 21 = 24 → 6
- Middle = 3 + 6 = 9
- Money channel: 3 · 9 · 6, the Empress, the Hermit and the Lovers
Example 2: June 23, 1992
- A = 23 → 5, B = 6, C = 21, D = 32 → 5, E = 37 → 10
- C2 = 21 + 10 = 31 → 4, D2 = 5 + 10 = 15
- S = 4 + 15 = 19, middle = 4 + 19 = 23 → 5
- Money channel: 4 · 5 · 19, the Emperor, the Hierophant and the Sun
Example 3: December 29, 1990
- A = 29 → 11, B = 12, C = 19, D = 42 → 6, E = 48 → 12
- C2 = 19 + 12 = 31 → 4, D2 = 6 + 12 = 18
- S = 4 + 18 = 22, middle = 4 + 22 = 26 → 8
- Money channel: 4 · 8 · 22, the Emperor, Justice and the Fool
What does each point in the money channel mean?
Read the three cards in order, from the center outward.
| Position | Formula | What it’s often read as | Other names you’ll see |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry | C2 | The energy that opens money flow, your natural approach to work | Entry point, money entry |
| Middle | C2 + S | The activity or style you’re “paid for,” what keeps resources moving | Core earning point, “what I get paid for” |
| Shared point | C2 + D2 | The bridge between money and relationships, and where flow tends to stall when it’s ignored | Balance point, exit point |
For 3 · 9 · 6, a reader might say: creativity and care (Empress) open the flow, so work that grows, makes or looks after something tends to feel right. Depth and expertise (Hermit) keep it going, so mastery over time matters more than speed. And value-led choice (Lovers) ties it all to relationships: work goes best when it fits what, and whom, you care about.
Compare 4 · 5 · 19. Structure and ownership (Emperor) open the flow, teaching or working within an institution (Hierophant) sustains it, and being seen and trusted in public (Sun) is the bridge. Same method, a completely different picture.
Notice that both readings talk about fit and style, never amounts.
Which numbers can appear in a money channel?
When we ran every date from 1900 to 2100 through the formula, 1 (the Magician) and 2 (the High Priestess) never appeared in any of the three money positions. Every other number, 3 through 22, does. If another site shows a 1 or 2 in your money channel, it’s using a different formula.
Readers often group the possible cards by the kind of work they favor. For the full meaning of each number, follow the links to the matrix pages.
| Theme | Cards | Work it’s often linked with |
|---|---|---|
| Structure and rules | 4, 5, 8 | Management, systems, teaching, law, finance, contracts |
| Making and caring | 3, 6, 14 | Design, beauty, care, partnerships, healing, mediation |
| Depth and expertise | 9, 12, 18 | Research, specialist or solo work, the arts, psychology |
| Drive and endurance | 7, 11, 16 | Goals and competition, physical work, crisis work, rebuilding |
| Visibility and influence | 15, 17, 19, 21 | Sales, persuasion, creative fame, public leadership, international work |
| Change and freedom | 10, 13, 20, 22 | Trade and timing, restructuring, family business, new ventures |
Each card also has a stressed side that tends to surface around money. The Empress can overspend on comfort, the Hermit can undercharge, the Devil can slide into debt or compulsion. The stressed side is often easier to recognize than the ideal, which makes it the more useful part to notice.
When a number repeats
If the same card appears twice in your channel, or matches your center E or corner C, readers treat it as the main money theme. In the June 23, 1992 example, the channel has no repeats but ends in 19, the same Sun energy that appears elsewhere in the chart through the personal purpose, so visibility is worth taking seriously.
How to read the wider money zone
Many readers don’t stop at three cards. They also look at:
- C, the corner, as the broad material theme. In the first example, 19, the Sun, points to warmth and visibility as natural resources.
- C1 (C + C2), between the corner and C2, often read as a talent that supports material life. In the first example, C1 = 19 + 3 = 22, the Fool: fresh starts and an unconventional path.
- The center E, because comfort-zone habits shape how you handle resources. An E of 11, Strength, points to persistence.
- B, the talent point, for skills you could turn into work.
- The karmic tail, which sits on the neighboring line. Its patterns often surface around work and money first.
Different money channel on another site?
There are three common reasons your money channel won’t match another calculator:
- Different points. Some sites build the money line from C1 and C2 plus the shared point, and some add a separate “money lock” number placed elsewhere on the chart. Compare the formulas before you compare meanings.
- Different reduction. Schools that subtract 22 instead of adding digits get different numbers from the same date. A comparison of the two reduction rules runs one date through both.
- Different order. Some sites print the channel from the shared point back toward C2.
This site uses the formulas above, which match our published methodology, and shows them on every result.
How to use your money channel in real life
- Treat it as a values check. Ask whether your current work uses the qualities of your entry card. If your entry is 4, do you have any structure or ownership? If it’s 22, do you have room to experiment?
- Brainstorm from the middle card. List five kinds of work that use it, then test the list against your actual skills and circumstances.
- Watch the stressed side. Undercharging, overspending or avoiding money talk are the habits this line tends to name.
- Keep decisions grounded. Use the chart for questions to ask yourself. Budgets, contracts and career moves need real-world information and, where relevant, professional advice.

Frequently asked questions
Can the money channel tell me how much I will earn?
No. The money channel is a reflective tool from tarot numerology, not a financial forecast. In the tradition it describes the kind of work and attitude that support your relationship with money, such as structure, creativity or service. It can't predict income, investments or career outcomes, and it should never replace advice from a qualified financial professional.
What if my money channel has a difficult card like the Tower or the Devil?
Every card has a constructive and a stressed side. The Tower in a money channel usually points to work involving change, crisis management or rebuilding, not to losing money. The Devil can describe skill with persuasion, sales or business. Readers look for the healthy use of each card and treat the shadow side as a warning sign to work with.
Does the money channel show my ideal career?
Only loosely. It describes qualities that tend to make work feel right, such as independence, visibility or care, and many different jobs can use those qualities. Readers use the middle point as a source of career ideas to test, alongside your talent point B and your real skills, experience and circumstances. Treat it as a prompt for ideas.
Do couples have a shared money channel?
Yes. A couple's matrix adds both partners' points together and then builds every line from the combined chart, including a money channel. Readers use it to talk about shared goals, joint finances and how the pair works together. The destiny matrix compatibility calculator on this site shows the combined money channel with every sum written out.
